START ADVISOR

Use the two sliders below to select the quantity of chickens and working hours per day that you are planning for your egg production. The ADVISOR will show which Moba equipment is able to handle your particular situation.

You can tune and tweak parameters to influence the result. Interested in what exactly these parameters mean? Click below to download the whitepaper on “Machine configuration”.

Quantity chickens

The total amount of layers (number of birds) in production. The number of eggs that can be expected per day is Number of Layers x Laying Efficiency%.

P.S. If you are calculating for an offline operation, enter the number of eggs per day here and set the Laying Efficiency% to 100%.

Daily working hours

Set here the number of production hours per day. This is the real production time without coffee- and lunch breaks.

Although you want to use your machine as effective as possible, it is realistic to expect that not all positions in the machine are filled with eggs. In a well managed situation, fillrates between 95% and 98% are realistic. In an inline operation, the fillrate is also depending on the efficiency of the incoming egg conveyors. In case of an offline operation (with loader) the fillrate can be close to 100%.

Sometimes an egg grader has to stop. This can be caused by a critical error but in most cases it is an operator that stops the machine to correct a problem, like filling denesters was forgotten or an empty shell triggered a safety in a packing lane. For automatic graders uptime percentages around 90% are realistic while in very well managed packing stations close to 100% can be achieved. For handpackers and farmpackers uptime is normally very high and can be expected to be close to 100%

In a commercial farm the laying efficiency refers to the number of eggs produced per day divided by the number of active laying hens A flock in peak production can reach laying efficiency over 90% while on averages percentages around 85% can be expected.

P.S. If you are making a calculation for an offline operation, set the laying efficiency to 100%

The table egg %, also often referred to as "Grade A" means the portion of the incoming eggs that will be handled as first quality eggs, suitable for consumption. If for example the table egg% =90% this means 10% of the incoming eggs is not suitable for consumption and are taken out in the grading process. Numbers below 90% are rare while in well managed operations table egg percentages over 95% can be reached.
